Although she did not choose Macalester initially, Yarrow Romero Moench Pasche had two successful seasons for the Scots’ cross country and track teams. Following two All-American years at Claremont-McKenna College, Pasche came to Macalester in 1998 and won the Central Region cross country meet before finishing 29th at the NCAA Division III Championships to earn All-America status. In 1999, she helped Macalester take eighth at the national cross country meet, the program’s highest national finish. Pasche also was an All-American on the track, taking eighth in the 1500 meters at both the 1999 and 2000 national outdoor meets. Following her collegiate career, Pasche turned to coaching and helped to guide Williams College to the NCAA national cross country championship in 2004. This fall she began her 11th season as the women’s cross country associate head coach at Luther College, where she has received multiple conference and region Coach of the Year awards.
