Hall of Fame
A three-year letter winner, Kristy Schaaf Horner is one of the top golfers in the history of Macalester’s program. As a senior, she became the first and only Macalester golfer to be selected to the WGCA All-America First Team after finishing fifth at the NCAA Division III National Championship. Horner also finished second at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship and received All-Conference honors. That year she also participated in the MWCGA State Championship and was named the Minnesota Women’s Collegiate Golf Association Player of the Year. As a sophomore, Horner set the school record for the lowest 36-hole score of 153 (78 and 75). She also holds the third-lowest 18-hole score of 75, set in 2001 and 2002. Still a competitive golfer, Horner is the current Women’s Club Champion at Prairie West Golf Club in Mandan, North Dakota. She has worked with the girls’ and junior golf programs in Mandan, and supports local charities in golf tournaments.
