Robert E. Carter won thirteen letters in four sports while at Macalester.

As a defensive lineman, Mr. Carter earned All-State honorable mention in 1942 and was twice selected as captain of the Scot football team.

Mr. Carter also co-captained Macalester hockey and baseball teams.  While still a student, he was the head basketball coach during his senior year.  He also was a member of the track team for one season.

His other Macalester activities included being president of his senior class and member of the M-Club.

Mr. Carter, a 1946 graduate of the College, entered the automobile business in 1958.  Today he is owner and president of Bob Carter Ford, Inc.  He is former president of the Greater Metro Auto Association and Minnesota Automobile Dealers Association and he was a recipient of the Time Magazine Quality Dealer of the Year Award.  Mr. Carter also served as king of the 1979 St. Paul Winter Carnival.

Mr. Carter lives in West Saint Paul.
