A versatile athlete while at Macalester, Dennis Tetu earned thirteen letters in four sports from 1953-57. He was named Macalester's "Athlete of the Year" in 1957, his senior year.
As a halfback and place-kicker on the football team, Mr. Tetu won four letters; was team captain his junior year; two time team most valuable player, and he was selected to four All-MIAC teams.
A four-letter performer as a center on the hockey team, Mr. Tetu was captain of the 1956-57 squad and was the Scots' leading scorer for three consecutive seasons.
As a track performer, Mr. Tetu earned four letters as a sprinter and long jumper and once ran a 10.0 100-yard dash. He also lettered one year as a second baseman on the Scot baseball team.
A resident of South Saint Paul, Mr. Tetu's post-college career has included teaching history and coaching hockey at South Saint Paul High School. He has coached three South Saint Paul teams to the Minnesota state hockey tournament.
