Intercollegiate Sports Played: Football, 4-year letter earner where he served as captain; Baseball, 3-year letter earner; Track and Field, 1-year letter earner; Athletic Achievements at Macalester: Football/Three time All-MIAC selection, All-American Honorable Mention. Two-year captain and Defensive Player of the Year in 1984, started forty-one straight games, currently holds the school single game record of thirteen solo tackles in one game, sixteen career interceptions, was captain of 1986 football team defense that produce fifty-eight turnovers in a ten-game season (still an NCAA all-division record for takeaways/game; Baseball/three-year starting center fielder; Track and Field/ran track for one year and was an MIAC finalist in the 300 meter indoor conference meet and a finalist in the 100 meter conference meet. Athletic Achievements after Macalester: Blaine has been the Defensive Backs Coach at Macalester for the last three years and coached two years in the ‘90s. Community Involvement: His business, Women’s Expo, donated over one million dollars to charities that support women. He serves as a current member of the NFL Alumni board that donates money to children’s charities in the Twin Cities.
