Hall of Fame
Mark Peters was an All-American tight end on Macalester’s best football teams in the 1980s. His best season came in 1986, when he caught 53 passes for 851 yards and seven touchdowns, and was named a third team All-American. His performance that year helped the Scots post a 7-2-1 record and place second in the conference. A three-time All-MIAC honoree, Peters broke many school records during his career on the gridiron, and he still holds the program standard for touchdowns in a game with four. An excellent all-around athlete, he also lettered in basketball and track and field, and he once held the school record in the triple jump. An economics and accounting major at Macalester, Peters is now the Senior Vice President for Business Development and Corporate Strategy at Reynolds American.
