Craig Edgerton is one of the few Macalester athletes to have won individual conference championships in two different sports. In 1951 Edgerton claimed first place at the MIAC track and field meet in the pole vault and as a member of the 1952-53 swimming team won the state 100-yard freestyle in conference-record time. Lettering four years on both the swimming and track teams, Edgerton was captain of the swim team in 1952 and placed in the MIAC meet all four years he participated.

 

Dr. Edgerton has practiced medicine in Durango, Colorado, for over 20 years. He has been active in civic affairs and also serves as an assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Edgerton established and coached a year-round AAU swim team and holds the Colorado masters age group 50-yard freestyle record.
