Dean Tripp '38, a nine-letter winner, excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. Captain of Mac's 1937 football team, he also made two honorary teams - the 1937 All-State conference football team and honorary mention, 1937 All-American football team.
As a player on the Scots' baseball team, Mr. Tripp helped the College win the MIAC title in 1937-38. He also coached the 1939 freshman basketball team.
In baseball, Mr. Tripp distinguished himself as an outstanding hitter, earning a .409 batting average in 1937.
After graduation, Mr. Tripp became a World War II navy pilot. He enjoyed a distinguished career with the firm of Marsh and McLennan, Inc., earning a Chartered Life Underwriter (C.L.U.) designation and becoming vice president of the firm. Although he is retired, he continues to stay active in numerous insurance organizations. He also is a member of the "M" Club, of which he has served as president and secretary.
