Susan Brown was a standout for the Scots’ track and field teams in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. In fact, she won a MIAC championship in each event. As a junior in 2006, Brown captured the conference triple jump title outdoors, then went on to place sixth at the NCAA Championships in that event to earn All-American accolades. As a senior, she won the high jump and long jump at the MIAC Indoor Championships and qualified for the national indoor meet in those two events. In all, Brown turned in 10 All-MIAC performances in her career, including five in the triple jump, and she still holds four school records. A chemistry major at Macalester, Brown is currently a chemist with Dow Chemical, where she is a champion for sustainability.
