personal, professional and leadership development program that leverages partnerships in the broader Twin Cities community, connections across campus, department developed initiatives and team-specific programming
. Scots LEAD propels Macalester student-athletes towards holistic development and provides them with a
“competitive edge” in life, at Macalester and beyond.
Scots LEAD program pillars:
- Leadership Development: Develop a deeper understanding of self as it relates to identity, core values, strengths, and leadership styles
- Life Skills: Prepare to successfully transition out of college and college athletics and harness necessary knowledge and skills to excel in next phases of adulthood
- Community Engagement: Engage in activities that promote enhanced social and civic awareness and responsibility
- Career Exploration: Identify transferable skills and become experts in telling and selling individual student-athlete stories
- Alumni Connection: Connect to, learn from and leverage an active professional network of Macalester Athletics alumni
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Recognize, celebrate and bridge across differences and evolve into more inclusive and equitable people and leaders
