Macalester College Athletics

Karen Moberg joined Macalester’s sports medicine team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2019 before becoming the Associate Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2020. She attended the University of Illinois, earning her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training in 2008. Moberg then received her Master’s degree and worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota from 2008-10. She has also been an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Colgate University and was a Student Athletic Training Intern with the WNBA Chicago Sky.

Moberg previously worked at Ridgeview Medical Center and Crown College. She was the Head Athletic Trainer for Crown College from 2011-16 and the Associate Athletic Trainer from 2016-19. Moberg also served as the Senior Woman Administrator at Crown College during the summer of 2019.
 
At Ridgeview Medical Center, Moberg led the Community Involvement Team. She worked directly with the community, physicians, emergency medical services, and local first responders to provide adequate and appropriate medical coverage of local events. Moberg has provided the medical protocol and served as the medical coordinator for events, spanning from half marathons to full triathlons. In the rehabilitation clinic, she specialized in sports injuries and comprehensive concussion care.
