Macalester Intramurals Philosophy:
Recreational activities and competitive sports are a valuable part of a liberal arts education. These physical activities are part of a life-long learning process and complement the academic and artistic knowledge gained at Macalester. The intramural program desires to provide activities of interest to the Macalester Community. The goal is for every individual to participate in an activity of his/her choosing in so far as facilities and equipment permits. Intramural activities are organized on a team and individual basis, as well as recreational and competitive levels, enabling all to participate. Ability is not a primary concern; all you need is desire. Only two people who have ever participated in a varsity sport at Macalester that is offered as an intramural sport are allowed on the same team (basketball, soccer/futsal).
2025-26 IM Sessions
Session 1 - Fall 1
Sports offered: Soccer and Kickball
Location: Turf
Rain Location; Fieldhouse
Dates: September 14, 21, 28, October 5, 12 (championship weekend)
Time: 3-6 PM
Registration will be open from : September 8 - September 11 @ noon
Session 2 - Fall 2
Sports offered: Volleyball and 3v3 Basketball
Location: Fieldhouse - Volleyball ----- Gym - 3v3 Basketball
Dates: October 26, November 2, 9, 16, 23 (championship weekend)
Time: 3-6 PM
Registration will be open from : October 20 -- October 23 @ noon
Session 3 - Winter
Sports offered: Futsal, Pickleball, 5v5 Basketball
Location: Fieldhouse - Futsal & Pickleball ----- Gym - 5v5 Basketball
Dates: February 1, 8, 15, 22, March 1, 8 (championship weekend)
Time: 3-6 PM
Registration will be open from : January 26 - January 29 @ noon
Session 4 - Spring
Sports offered: Soccer and Volleyball
Location: Fieldhouse - Volleyball ----- Turf - Soccer
Rain Location for Soccer: Fieldhouse
Dates: March 29, April 12, 19, 26, May 3 (championship weekend)
Time: 3-6 PM
Registration will be open from : March 23 - March 26 @ noon
