Sarah Ellerton starred for the water polo team during her four years at Macalester and still holds the program’s all-time record for goals in a career with 295. She burst onto the scene in 2007 with 92 goals, then a school record, and received All-American honorable mention to go with All-Region honors. After repeating on the All-Region team as a sophomore, Sarah was named the 2009 Co-Midwest Region Player of the Year along with teammate Sophia Shaw ’09. As a senior in 2010, she topped her own school record with 96 goals and set the standard for steals with 111, two records that still stand today. That year Sarah received All-American honorable mention for the second time in her career while earning All-Region and All-Conference (CWPA) accolades. Also a member of the swimming & diving teams, she swam on the Scots’ school-record relay teams in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays while also serving as team captain. An English major at Macalester, Sarah is the Director of Admission and Financial Aid and an assistant swim coach at Morristown (N.J.) Beard School, where she is starting a water polo team.
