Jerome W. Sullivan*

Jerome W. Sullivan was a leader on three consecutive conference champion track and field teams, earning three letters and captained the 1934 squad. His specialties were the hurdles, broad jump and javelin. He was also a three letter winner as a halfback in football, and was a member of the swim team. A member of the M Club, Sullivan earned a total of seven letters at Macalester.


After going to graduate school at the University of Minnesota and Mankato State College, Sullivan coached several sports in Minnesota high schools for 40 years. His 1957 Roosevelt High School team won the State championship. He was named Minneapolis High School Coach of the Year five times.

"As I look back on forty years of coaching, I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with so many fine young men. Guiding and shaping these young men was my greatest satisfaction."

Sullivan now lives in Minneapolis.
