Hall of Fame
Elizabeth Fitzgerald developed into one of Macalester’s most decorated divers, eventually winning MIAC titles and earning All-American honors. After finishing in the bottom half of the competitors on the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards at the MIAC Championships as a first year, she finished fourth on both boards as a sophomore, missing All-MIAC status by one position. As a junior, Elizabeth placed third on the 3-meter board to earn All-Conference status while taking fifth on the 1-meter board. Everything came together for her senior year, as she won MIAC championships in both diving events, becoming the first Macalester women’s diver to achieve that feat. Elizabeth’s performances qualified her for the NCAA Championships, where she finished 14th on the 3-meter board to earn All-American accolades. She also placed 20th on the 1-meter board that year. After her diving career, Elizabeth has become an avid runner, competing in everything from 5Ks to ultramarathons. She also volunteers for her running club, San Diego Track Club. A chemistry and environmental studies double major while at Macalester, Elizabeth is a chemistry professor at San Diego Miramar College.
