Ron Stolski is one of the best quarterbacks ever to play for the Fighting Scots. Stolski started the 1957 Homecoming game as a freshman and threw two touchdown passes; Mac won that game and finished the season 6-1-1. Stolski continued to flash excellence, and in 1960 he led the Scots as team captain to an impressive 7-2 record. As a senior Stolski was named to the all-conference squad and was selected team most valuable player while leading the MIAC in passing and total offense.
In 1961 Stolski coached the Macalester freshman team, beginning what became a legendary football coaching career in the Minnesota high school ranks, most recently at Brainerd and before that at Kensington, Slayton, Princeton, and Park Center. Stolski has served as president of the Minnesota State Football Coaches Association and State Athletic Directors Association.
