ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team hosted the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational today. The Scots finished seventh out of 19 teams, with 42 points.
Senior
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) led the Scots today with a personal best triple jump mark of 11.96m (39' 3"). Her mark ranks first in the MIAC and ranks 13
th in Division III. Amundson's mark also breaks the school record of 11.81m (38' 8.75"), set by Susan Brown in 2006.
Amundson also competed on the track with teammates juniors
Penelope Hunter (Granville, Ohio/Granville) and
Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg, Tenn./St. Andrew's-Sewanee School), and first year
Zoe Carver (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy) in the 4x100m relay. The Scots finished second with a time of 50.88. The 4x400m relay team, consisting of first years
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School),
Mara Pirone (Carrboro, N.C./Chapel Hill), and
Sky Theodosopolous (San Francisco, Calif./Bay School), and senior
Madeline Rodriguez (Petaluma, Calif./Marin Academy) finished sixth with a mark of 3:34.91. Hunter scored points in the 100m dash, finishing eighth with a time of 13.09. Rodriguez took fourth in the 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 1:13.21. In the 1500, Theodosopolous finished ninth (5:01.41) and Pirone finished 11
th with a personal best time (5:06.45) to score points.
The Scots continued to score points in the field. Hobby finished eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.45m (4' 9"). First year
Lauren Cappelmann (Harrington Park, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) competed in the long jump, alongside Amundson, and finished eighth with a mark of 8.86m (29' 1").
Macalester's next meet is scheduled for Wednesday May 3. The Scots will compete at the Joe Sweeney Invitational hosted by St. Thomas in St. Paul.

Jesse Colnes (Montpelier, Vt./U-32),
Erin Franke (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep),
Grace Lin (New York, N.Y./LaGuardia), and
Karley Thurston (Bloomington, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson).
