ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field and cross country teams had six student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced today. The honorees are juniors
Jessica Lin (Bedford, Mass./Bedford),
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) and
Ingrid Norquist (Minneapolis, Minn./Anoka), and sophomores
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle),
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) and
Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M/Bosque School).
The CSC Academic All-America and All-District program honors student-athletes for excellence in both academics and athletics. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and have a top 50 performance in the region in an individual event or at the cross country regional meet to be considered for Academic All-District and All-American accolades.
Lin posted a personal-best mark in the weight throw during the indoor season, then finished third in the hammer throw at the MIAC Outdoor Championships to earn All-MIAC honors. The school-record holder in the hammer, she ranks second all-time at Macalester in the weight throw. Lin is majoring in data science and economics.
This is the second Academic All-District award for Myatt, who repeated as the MIAC shot put champion indoors and placed second in the event outdoors. She also finished third in the high jump and was sixth in the heptathlon at the MIAC Outdoor Championships. An excellent all-around athlete, Myatt broke the school records in the pentathlon indoors and the heptathlon outdoors this season, and holds both shot put school records. Also Academic All-MIAC last year, she is majoring in both economics and psychology.
Norquist also repeats on the Academic All-District team after an outstanding cross country season. After finishing sixth at the MIAC Championships, she took ninth at the NCAA North Region meet to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships, where she was 81st. Based on her performance and grade point average, Norquist was named an All-Academic Athlete by the USTFCCCA. She also received the MIAC Elite 22 Award for having the highest GPA among the top 15 finishers at the MIAC Cross Country Championships. A Spanish and psychology double-major, she made the Academic All-MIAC team in 2025.
Beckley registered personal bests in the 55, 100 and 200 meters this year, finishing ninth in the 55 meters at the MIAC Indoor Championships. She also ran on the Scots' 4x400-meter relay team that was fourth at the MIAC Indoor Championships, and contributed to seventh-place MIAC finishes in the 4x200-meter relay indoors and the 4x400-meter relay outdoors. Beckley is majoring in biology.
Fox joined Norquist at the NCAA Cross Country Championships after taking 10th at the MIAC Championships and 15th at the North Region meet. She was 107th at nationals, then reeled off personal bests in the mile and 1000 meters indoors and the 800, 1500 and 5000 meters outdoors. Fox was All-MIAC in the mile (third) and the distance medley relay (second) indoors and the 1500 (second), 5000 (third) and 4x800-meter relay (second) outdoors. She also was named an All-Academic Athlete by the USTFCCCA and was included on the Academic All-MIAC team for the fall.
Rogahn-Press adds Academic All-District to her long list of accolades. She was third in the 400 meters and 12th in the 200 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships to earn All-America honors for the third and fourth time. At the MIAC Indoor Championships, Rogahn-Press won the 400 with a meet and facility record, took second in the 200 and finished third in the 55-meter dash to be named the MIAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Due to injury she only ran once outdoors and posted the fastest time in the 400 in Division III this season. Rogahn-Press is majoring in sociology.
