ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Macalester College men's track & field team participated in the Joe Sweeney Invitational, hosted by the University of St. Thomas on Wednesday. The Scots' distance runners ran well against strong competition.
Senior
Tyler Edwards (Beaverton, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) highlighted Macalester's efforts on the track with a third-place finish in the 5000 meters with a time of 14:47.63. In the 1500 meters, junior
Quinn Hoisington (Seattle, Wash./Lincoln) took fourth in 3:59.07, junior
Daniel Wiltse (Missoula, Mont./Hellgate) finished sixth with a time of 4:00.07, and senior
Jordan Galloway (Portland, Ore./Grant) was 11th in 4:07.36. Sophomore
Caleb Hatlevig (Stow, Mass./Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School) placed fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 10:43.49. Sophomore
John Ihrke (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) finished 13th out of 42 runners in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.81.
Macalester has multiple competitions scheduled this week. The Scots will participate in Hamline's Meet of the Unsaintly on Friday and in the Ole Open at St. Olaf on Saturday.
