PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The Macalester College men's track & field sent six runners to the UW-Platteville Invitational to compete in the 5000 meters on Friday. The event, one of the top 5000-meter races in Division III, included 11 heats and 343 finishers.
Senior
Tyler Edwards (Beaverton, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) responded well to competing against some of the top distance runners in Division III, running a personal-best time of 14:42.42 to take 60th overall and 10th in his heat. The time ranks second on Macalester's all-time performance list behind only former All-American
Paul Mausling '81 (14:29.0). Junior
Quinn Hoisington (Seattle, Wash./Lincoln) also broke the program's top 10 with a time of 14:59.80, which ranks eighth at Macalester. Hoisington finished 122nd overall and 12th in his heat.

Daniel Wiltse (Missoula, Mont./Hellgate) and senior
Jordan Galloway (Portland, Ore./Grant) came across the finish line together in their heat, with Wiltse taking 10th (15:22.64) and Galloway finishing 11th (15:22.69). Both are personal best times. Sophomore
Caleb Hatlevig (Stow, Mass./Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School) took second in his heat with a personal-best time of 15:41.36. Sophomore
Sam Parsons (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) posted a time of 16:17.62 running in the same heat as Hatlevig.
The rest of the women's track & field team competes at Bethel University on Saturday, April 11.
