DECORAH, Iowa – The Macalester College women's track and field team competed at the Norse Invite today, hosted by Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
First year
Sky Theodosopolous (San Francisco, Calif./Bay School) took second in the 1500m run, with a time of 4:55.22. Theodosopolous also led the Scots in the 800m run, finishing seventh with a time of 2:26.87. Sophomore
Anna Warren (St. Louis, Mo./Marquette) finished ninth in the 800m with a personal best time of 2:28.51. First year
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) took eighth in the 400m with a time of 1:02.27. Junior
Karley Thurston (Minneapolis, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson) finished fifth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:40.14. Senior
Jesse Colnes (Montpelier, VT./U-32), sophomore
Sylvia Coyle (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming), and senior
Erin Franke (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) all set personal records in the 5000m to finish ninth (19:39.85), 10
th (19:41.40), and 11
th (19:49.89) in respectively.
In the field, junior
Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg, Tenn./St. Andrew's-Sewanee School) finished fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 34.47m (113' 1"). Hobby also finished ninth in the high jump. Senior
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) took second in the long jump with a mark of 5.15m (16' 10.75").
The 1600m sprint medley team, consisting of Warren, sophomore
Caitlin Falkowski (New York City, N.Y./The Clinton School), and first years
Roen Boyd (Minneapolis, Minn./South) and
Mara Pirone (Carrboro, N.C./Chapel Hill), finished third with a time of 4:29.61.
Macalester's next meets are scheduled for Saturday April 22. The Scots will compete at the Carleton Relays in Northfield, as well as the Arkansas State University Red Wolf Open.
