NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team competed at St. Olaf's Ole Open in the final competition before the MIAC Championships Saturday afternoon. No team scores were kept.
For the third time this season, sophomore
Jessica Lin (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) broke the school record in the hammer throw, placing first with a toss of 49.31 meters (161-9). The effort tops her previous record of 48.22. Sophomore
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) finished second in the shot put with a toss of 11.94 meters (39-2.25). First year
Juliet Reichart (Tiburon, Calif./Marin Academy) took fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.38 meters (4-6.25). Sophomore
Harmony-Keli Tomety (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook East) was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.25 (17-2.75). Sophomore
Seneca Wilson (Durango, Calif./Durango) 2.90 (9-6.25) in the pole vault to take sixth. Sophomore
Brooke Boroughs (Monroe, Wash./Monroe) finished fifth in the javelin with a mark of 29.75 (97-7).
On the track, first year
Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School), won the 100 meters in 12.21. She also joined junior
Roen Boyd (Minneapolis, Minn./South), Wilson and
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle) on the 4x100-meter relay team that took second with a time of 49.52, which ranks ninth on Macalester's all-time performance list. First year
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) competed in her first outdoor meet of the season and placed fourth in the 1500 meters in 4:47.78. Beckley was fifth in the 400 meters in 1:00.12. In the 800 meters, sophomore
Timna Nevo (Portland, Ore./Sunset) and first year
Kyra Morris (Pacific Palisades, Calif./Palisades Charter) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Macalester serves as host of the MIAC Track & Field Championships, which will be held at Macalester Stadium on May 9-10.
