| By:
NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team turned in multiple All-Conference performances on the final day of the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at St. Olaf. The Scots finished with 59 points to tie for seventh with Carleton in the team standings.

In the field events, junior Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) broke the school record in the shot put with a toss of 13.36 meters (43-10). The old mark of 13.28 meters (43-7) was set by Janis Raatz '88 in 1988. It was the second All-MIAC performance of the meet for Myatt, who took third in the high jump yesterday.

Also earning All-MIAC honors was junior Jessica Lin (Bedford, Mass./Bedford), who finished third in the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 48.85 meters (160-3).

On the track, sophomore Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) followed up her second-place finish in the 1500 meters on Friday with a third-place performance in the 5000 meters on Saturday, posting a time of 17:42.43. Fox also helped the Scots' 4x800-meter relay team take second on Friday to earn All-MIAC status. Also scoring points in the 5000 was junior Samantha Ellis (Intervale, N.H./Gould Academy), who was sixth with a time of 18:19.47 to receive her second All-MIAC honorable mention following last night's fourth-place finish in the 10,000 meters.

Macalester's 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle), senior Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School), sophomore Tilia Iverson (Roseville, Minn./Roseville) and Myatt earned the Scots' final points of the meet with a seventh-place finish in 4:06.79.

Macalester will send select athletes to last chance meets next week in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the end of May.
