Collegeville, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team traveled to Collegeville on Saturday to compete in the Saint John's/Saint Benedict Alumni Meet. The Scots placed second at the meet.
Leading the Scots was first year
Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings), who in the 200-meter dash, won in a time of 22.82 seconds. In addition, Heitler, along with first years
Jeff Wang (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) and
Kalid Ali (St. Paul, Minn./Como Park), and senior
Ryan Kinnucan (Portland, Ore./Grant) took first in the 4x400 meter relay.
First year
Ben Crotteau (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast) was the first Scot to cross the finish line in the mile run, in a time of 4:35.49, earning a second-place finish. First years
Reece McKee (Charlottesville, VA./Charlottesville), and
Tor Olsson (Northampton, Mass./Northampton), sophomore
Alexander Fendig (Chevy Chase, MD./Sandy Spring Friends School) and first year
Brock Adams (Corona, Calif./Santiago) came in after Crotteau.
Furthermore, first year
Riley Hodin, placed third in long jump, registering 6.00 meters. Ali placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.49.
The Scots return to action Friday, Feb. 4, when they host the Macalester Invitational. The meet starts at 5:00 p.m.
