ST. PAUL, Minn. - Macalester College first year
Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) was named the MIAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year, as the MIAC announced its year-end awards today. Rogahn-Press, who also was the conference's Rookie of the Year during the indoor season, earned All-MIAC honors in two individual events and received honorable mention in two relays. The top three finishers in each individual event and relay are All-MIAC, while fourth-through-sixth places receive All-MIAC honorable mention.
In the 400 meters, Rogahn-Press finished second by .02 seconds with a school-record time of 53.89. The time ranks second in Division III this season, and is the 11th-fastest time ever run at the Division III level. She also placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 24.62.
Two Scots earned All-MIAC honors in the field events. Sophomore
Harmony-Keli Tomety (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook East) placed second in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 5.48 meters (17-11.75). The performance ranks third all-time at Macalester and 74th in Division III. Sophomore
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) posted an outdoor PR with a toss of 12.78 (41-11.25) to take third in the shot put.
Receiving All-MIAC honorable mention on the track was sophomore
Ivy Coldren (Frederick, Md./Urbana), who placed fifth in the 5000 meters with a time of 18:26.96. The Scots' 4x400-meter relay team of first year
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle), junior
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School), Myatt and Rogahn-Press finished fourth in 3:59.23, the eighth-fastest time in program history. Rogahn-Press, Beckley, sophomore
Seneca Wilson (Durango, Colo./Durango) and first year
Emma Cunningham (Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut) took fifth in the 4x100-meter relay in 48.90, which ranks third on Macalester's all-time list.
In the field events, sophomore
Jessica Lin (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) also earned All-MIAC honorable mention status with a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.00 meters (154-2). Also receiving honorable mention was Myatt in the heptathlon, which was held at Carleton May 1-2. Myatt finished fourth in the seven-event competition with a score of 3955, which ranks fifth all-time at Macalester.
As a team, the Scots scored 57 points to finish sixth in the team standings, the program's highest finish since the 2017 team placed fourth.
Gustavus' Megan Geraets was named the MIAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, while teammate Kelly Brennan was chosen the Field Athlete of the Year. Aaron Young of Gustavus is this year's MIAC Coach of the Year.
