ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Macalester College men's track & field team had 10 student-athletes earn conference honors at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as the conference announced its 2025 awards today. The top three finishers in each individual event and relay are All-MIAC, while fourth-through-sixth places receive All-MIAC honorable mention.
On the track, senior
Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) took third in the 400 meters with a time of 47.41, which currently ranks 26th in Division III. First year
John Ihrke (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) also placed third in the 800 meters in 1:51.97. At the end of the meet, Ihrke anchored the Scots' 4x400-meter relay team that included first year
Karson Sammons (Portland, Ore./Westview), senior
Kalid Ali (St. Paul, Minn./Como Park) and senior
Jeff Wang (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) to a third-place finish with a time of 3:18.36. The time ranks second all-time at Macalester.
In the field events, senior
Riley Hodin (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) earned All-MIAC honors by taking third in the triple jump with a leap of 13.83 meters (45-4.5). The mark ranks eighth on Macalester's all-time performance list.

Aiden Yang (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) placed sixth in the javelin with a throw of 52.48 (172-2) to receive All-MIAC honorable mention. Macalester's 4x800-meter relay team of Ali, junior

Jack Riley (Wrenschall, Minn./Wrenschall) and junior
Jay Lebakken (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) also received All-MIAC honorable mention with a sixth-place finish in 7:53.02, the fourth-best time in the program's history.
Kevin Arthur of Saint John's was named the MIAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, while Timmy Ball of Bethel was selected both the MIAC Field Athlete and Rookie of the Year. Bethel's Andrew Rock repeated as MIAC Coach of the Year.
