ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team took a short trip to St. Thomas, to compete at the Joe Sweeney Invitational.
Senior
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) jumped a personal best 5.42m (17' 9.5") in the long jump. This mark is the second best in Macalester history and ranks second in the conference. Amundson also ran a personal best in the 100m dash. Her time of 12.97 ranks 11
th in the MIAC.
Junior
Penelope Hunter (Granville, Ohio/Granville) ran a season best 27.17 in the 200m dash. First year
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) set personal bests in the 200m dash (27.76) and in the 400m dash (1:01.04). First year
Sky Theodosopolous (San Francisco, Calif./Bay School) ran a personal best time of 4:49.74 in the 1500m. This time ranks 13
th in the MIAC.
Other personal records set today came from first years
Amanda Crewey (New York City, N.Y./Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts) and
Roen Boyd (Minneapolis, Minn./South) in the 100m dash, and first year
Zoe Carver (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy) in the 200m dash.
The Scots will send junior
Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg, Tenn./St. Andrew's-Sewanee School) to compete at the MIAC Combined Events Championships on Thursday May 4 in Northfield, hosted by Carleton. The rest of the Scots will next compete at the Meet of the Unsaintly, on Friday May 5, in St. Paul, hosted by Hamline.
