ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team traveled to Arden Hills, to compete in the first day of the MIAC Outdoor Championships. At the end of Day 1, the Scots sit tied for sixth with 23 points.
 
Senior 
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) set a personal record in the long jump to become a MIAC Champion. She won with a leap of 5.54m (18' 2.25") which also breaks the previous school record of 5.52m (18' 1.5") set by Francene Young in 1988.
 
Junior 
Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg, Tenn./St. Andrew's-Sewanee School) added more points to the Scots' total with an All-MIAC performance in the javelin throw. She set a personal record of 38.15m (125' 2") to take third. This mark is also the second-best in school history. The 4x800m relay team of first years 
Sky Theodosopolous (San Francisco, Calif./Bay School), 
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School), and 
Mara Pirone (Carrboro, N.C./Chapel Hill), and sophomore 
Anna Warren (St. Louis, Mo./Marquette) received All-MIAC Honorable Mention, taking sixth with a time of 9:49.58.
 
The Scots will finish out the MIAC Outdoor Championships tomorrow in Arden Hills, Minn.
