Senior
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) set a personal record in the triple jump today with a leap of 11.79m (38' 8.25"). She took second in the event and her leap is the second-best mark in school history, just behind Susan Brown, who set the record of 11.81m (38' 8.75") in 2006. Junior
Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg, Tenn./St. Andrew's-Sewanee School) finished seventh in the javelin throw with a mark of 34.23m (112' 3").
Hobby also set two personal records on the track today, running the 200m dash in a time of 29.30 and finishing the 100m hurdles in a time of 17.58. The 4x400m relay team of Amundson, first years
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) and
Jaeden Sims (St. Paul, Minn./Washington Technology Magnet School), and junior
Penelope Hunter (Granville, Ohio/Granville) took 11
th (4:17.61).
Macalester's next meet is scheduled for Friday April 7. The Scots will head over to the St. Thomas Invite, here in St. Paul.
