St. Paul, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team hosted the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational today. The Scots came in third, behind winner St. Olaf, and St. Scholastica.
The Scots had many dominating performances today. The Scots took six of the top seven spots in the 5000-meter run. First year
Ben Crotteau (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast) won with a time of 15:57.00. Fellow first years
Nick Ihrke (Northbrook, Il./Glenbrook North) and year
Reece McKee (Charlottesville, VA./Charlottesville) came in second and third respectively. Sophomore
Alexander Fendig (Chevy Chase, MD./Sandy Spring Friends School) came in fourth while first years
Aidan Appel (Kronenwetter, Wis./D.C. Everest) and
Joseph Madell (Shorewood, Wis./Shorewood) came in sixth and seventh.
Also on the track, first year
Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) won the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.31, the third best time in school history. Fellow first year
Jeff Wang (Harleysville, PA/North Penn) won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 56.15, tying for the sixth best time in Macalester history. Junior
Mason Bosley (Amery, Wis./Amery) came in fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the field, sophomore
Caleb Williams (Wild Rose, Wis./Wild Rose) won the triple jump with a mark of 13.99 meters (45' 10.75"). This mark is ranked 36
th in DIII and fifth in Macalester history. First year
Riley Hodin (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) placed third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump. Bosley came in second in the javelin throw with a mark of 45.08 meters (147' 11"). First year
Max Menache (Beverly Hills, Calif./Beverly Hills) placed third in both the discus throw and the hammer throw.
Today marked the last home track meet for the Scots' senior athletes,

Spencer McNall (Eugene, Ore./Eugene), and
Brady Thompson (New Brighton, Minn./De La Salle), who were recognized before today's meet.
Macalester's next meet is scheduled for Wednesday May 4 at 4:00 p.m. The Scots will compete at the Tommie Twilight hosted by St. Thomas.
