NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Macalester College men's track and field team participated in the Carleton Relays, held Friday night and Saturday at Carleton. No team scores were kept.
The field events led the way for the Scots, with senior
J.J. Arimi (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) taking second place in both the long jump and the triple jump. He turned in a season-best mark of 6.41 (21-0.5) in the long jump and leaped 12.61 (41-4.5) in the triple jump. Sophomore
Will Murphy (Longmont, Colo./Longmont) was third in the triple jump (12.54/41-1.75) and fourth in the long jump (6.18/20-3.5). First year
Justin Veimau (Hillsboro, Ore./Catlin Gabel) placed fifth in the javelin with a toss of 35.98 (118-0), while senior
Erik Anderson (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) took second in the discus with a season-best throw of 30.96 (101-7).
On the track, junior
Ryan Kinnucan (Portland, Ore./Grant) was third in the 400-meter hurdles, first year
Charlie McManus (Swarthmore, Pa./Pa./Germantown Friends) took eighth in the 800 meters, and first year
Jon Kazor (Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) finished eighth in the 100 meters. Sophomore
Henry Basu (Los Angeles, Calif./LA Center for Enriched Studies) placed seventh in the 100 meters and eighth in the 200 meters. Kinnucan, Murphy, Basu and Arimi combined to finish second in the 4x100-meter relay.
On Friday, first year
Drew Getty (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) took eighth in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:12.95. Senior
Elijah Levy (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont) ran the 10,000 meters and placed third.
Next up for the Scots is their home meet, the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational, on May 1 at Macalester Stadium.
