NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team began competition at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Friday at St. Olaf. The Scots had a solid day, scoring 31 points for a total of 34, which has them in third in the team standings.
On the track, sophomore
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) took second in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:38.43, which ranks second on Macalester's all-time performance list. She also anchored the 4x800-meter relay team that included sophomore
Tilia Iverson (Roseville, Minn./Roseville), first year
Aubrey Jensen (Floresville, Texas) and sophomore
Kyra Morris (Pacific Palisades, Calif./Palisades Charter) to a second-place finish with a time of 9:23.38, the third-best time ever run at Macalester. In the 10,000 meters, junior
Samantha Ellis (Intervale, N.H./Gould Academy) received All-MIAC honorable mention with a fourth-place finish in 38:55.08. The time ranks ninth all-time at Macalester.
In the field events, junior
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) finished third in the high jump, clearing a personal-best 1.61 meters (5-3.25). The mark ranks fifth all-time at Macalester. Senior
Brooke Boroughs (Monroe, Wash./Monroe) placed fifth in the javelin with a toss of 34.93 meters (114-7). Myatt earns All-MIAC accolades for her top-three finish, while Boroughs receives All-MIAC honorable mention.
On Saturday, the field events begin at 12:00 p.m, while the track events start at 1:30 p.m. Tickets for the Friday and Saturday sessions are $13 for adults and $4 for students per session. All ticket sales will be handled online by
