ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team finished up the the MIAC Indoor Championships today. Macalester finished seventh among 12 teams, with 40 points. This is the program's best finish since 2017.
 
Both senior 
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) and junior 
Maria Blaesing (Munster, Ind./Munster) tacked on more All-MIAC honors today. Amundson placed third in the long jump competition, registering a mark of 11.25m (17' 2.75"). Blaesing took second in the 1000m run, with a season best time of 3:01.51.
 
The 4x200m relay team of first years 
Lauren Cappelmann (Harrington Park, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan), 
Jaeden Sims (St. Paul, Minn./Washington Technology Magnet School), and 
Amanda Crewey (New York City, N.Y./Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts), and junior 
Penelope Hunter (Granville, Ohio/Granville) finished just shy of scoring points, finishing ninth. Also taking ninth place was the 4x400m relay team consisting of Blaesing, Amundson, Sims, and first year and 
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School).
Bethel won the Championships with 144 points.
 
The Scots' next meet will be the Last Chance Meet, hosted by Wartburg in Waverly, Iowa on Saturday March 4.
