ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team competed in the MIAC Indoor Championships today. Macalester currently sits in seventh, with 26 points.
Two Scots earned individual All-MIAC honors. Senior
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) finished second in the triple jump, with a leap of 11.63m (38' 2"). Junior
Maria Blaesing (Munster, Ind./Munster) placed third in the mile, to earn All-MIAC honors. She ran a time of 5:01.71, a personal best for Blaesing. This is the second-best time in Macalester history.
Amundson and Blaesing also earned All-MIAC honors in the distance medley relay. They paired with first years
Mara Pirone (Carrboro, N.C./Chapel Hill) and
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) to take second in the distance medley relay, with a time of 12:45.46.
First year
Jaeden Sims (St. Paul, Minn./Washington Technology Magnet School) narrowly missed out on scoring points in the triple jump, placing ninth. She jumped a personal best of 10.63m (34' 10.50").
The Scots close out the MIAC Championships tomorrow, Sun. Feb. 26. The first events of the day will start at 10:15 a.m.
