St. Paul, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team had 11 athletes honored by the MIAC today, as the conference announced its season-ending awards. The top three finishers in each individual event and the winning relay teams at last weekend's MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships earned All-MIAC status, while places 4-6 in the individual events and places 2-6 in the relays received All-MIAC honorable mention. The Sportsmanship team was also announced.

First year Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) earned All-MIAC honorable mention in two individual events. Heitler placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.36 and sixth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.88, the fourth best in Macalester history. In the field, senior J.J. Arimi (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) and first year Riley Hodin (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) earned All-MIAC honorable mention placing fifth and sixth respectively in triple jump. Arimi posted a mark of 13.17 meters (43' 2.50") and Hodin registered a personal best mark of 13.13 meters (43' 1.00"). Arimi was also recognized as All-MIAC honorable mention, coming in fourth in long jump with a mark of 6.45 meters (21' 2.00").
 
The Scots also had multiple relays earn honorable mention. Heitler teamed up with first years Jeff Wang (Harleysville, PA/North Penn) and Kalid Ali (St. Paul, Minn./Como Park) and senior Ryan Kinnucan (Portland, Ore./Grant) in the 4x400 meter relay. The team came in third with a time of 3:26.56. Kinnucan, Wang, Arimi and first year Jacob Kogut (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) took sixth in the 4x200 meter relay. The distance medley team also came in sixth, consisting of first years Brock Adams (Corona, Calif./Santiago), Ali, and Ben Crotteau (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast), along with senior Spencer McNall (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene).
 
Senior Henry Basu (Los Angeles, Calif./LA Center for Enriched Studies) was named to the MIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
 
Maguire Petersen of Saint John's was named Outstanding Field Athlete as well as being recognized as the Outstanding Performance of the Meet in the Heptathlon.
