LA CROSSE, Wis. - Macalester College first year Maria Blaesing (Munster, Ind./Munster) competed in the final meet of the spring, winning the 1500 meters at the NCAA Final Qualifier Thursday night at UW-La Crosse.

Blaesing won the 1500 with a time of 4:44.30, nearly 13 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. The time is just off her personal-best performance of 4:44.00 at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships last Saturday.

Blaesing received All-MIAC honorable mention for finishing fourth in the 1500 at the conference meet. She also scored in the 5000 meters, placing seventh.
