New Prague, Minn.- The Macalester College men's golf team competed in the Bobby Krig Invitational April 18-19. The Scots earned a ninth place finish out of 15 teams. Sophomore
Fritz Gessl (Chester Springs, PA./Westtown) led the way for the Scots individually with a sixth-place finish.
Gessl finished the invitational with a two-day score of 152 (+11) by shooting a 73 on day-one and a 79 on day two. Sophomore
Tommy Hayes (Chicago, Ill./Whitney M. Young Magnet) finished with a two-day score of 158 (+17) by shooting a day-one score of 76 and a day-two score of 82.
Junior
Karanja Karubiu (Nairobi, Kenya/United World College) shot a two-day score of 168 (+27) and placed 56
th at the invitational.
The Scots will play in the Saint John's University Spring Invite before competing in the MIAC Championships.
