ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Macalester College men's track and field team will compete in the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held May 10-11 at the University of St. Thomas.
Several Scots are looking to place in the top eight at the conference meet. Senior
Andrew Smith (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine) earned All-MIAC honors at this meet last year with a third-place finish. He also placed second in the high jump indoors this winter for his third All-MIAC award. Also in the field events, senior
George Howe (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis University HS) and junior
Liam Edwards-Gaherty (New York, N.Y./Hunter College HS) have top 10 performances this year in the pole vault and javelin, respectively.
On the track, junior
David Palmer (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) and first year
Spencer McNall (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) are candidates to score in the 800 meters. Sophomore
Keegan Greaney (Sisters, Ore./Sisters) has a top-eight performance this year in the 400 meters. Senior
Mac Doherty (Madison, Wis./Madison East) and junior
Jake Lepak (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis University HS) are among the top-ranked runners in a competitive 5000-meter field. The Scots' relay teams also are in position to score a top-eight finish.
