ST. PAUL, Minn. -- After playing for two hours and 19 minutes, and scoring 29 runs, St. Thomas and Macalester finished the final one and one-half innings in 20 minutes after Wednesday's game was suspended due to lightning in the middle of the sixth inning.
The Scots plated a run immediately in the bottom of the sixth inning when
Nick Mar led off with a walk and came around to score on
Tom Forster's double.
St. Thomas picked up another run in the top of the seventh inning before Alex Ogren worked a scoreless seventh inning for the Tommies to finish the game, which was halted due to the 10-run rule.
Macalester is in action again Saturday when it travels to Northfield, Minn. for a scheduled Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader with Carleton, slated to get underway at 1 p.m.
