Biography

As a Scot
Studied abroad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the fall 2016 semester.

2017
Earned All-Region and All-MIAC honors after leading the Scots with a .392 batting average… Made the ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region first team and the D3Baseball.com All-Region third team… Led the MIAC in hits with 62 while ranking third in batting average, doubles (15) and on-base percentage (.458), fourth in total bases (90) and seventh in slugging percentage (.570)… Recorded 18 multi-hit games… Belted a two-run homer in the Scots’ 7-6 victory over St. Thomas in the MIAC Playoffs… Was 5-for-14 with four runs and four RBIs in three wins at the MIAC Playoffs… Hit a walk-off single to drive in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth to beat St. Thomas, 9-8 Apr. 17… Had a 29-game hitting streak from Mar. 18-May 18.

2016
Started 20 of his 28 games played… Batted .286 with 18 runs, six doubles, two triples, two homers and 13 runs batted in… Had eight multi-hit games… Hit a three-run home run in a win over Southern Vermont Mar. 13… Drove in three runs in a win over Hamline Apr. 6… Had three hits vs. Saint John’s Apr. 12… Homered at Saint Mary’s Apr. 23.

2015
Batted .344 with 31 hits, 10 doubles and 21 runs in his first collegiate season… Went 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs vs. Winnipeg Mar. 14… Homered against St. Thomas Apr. 1… Doubled twice against Carleton Apr. 4… Was 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI at Saint John’s Apr. 22… Also had a pair of doubles and drove in two runs against North Central Apr. 27.

Before Mac
Was team captain senior year at Central Catholic High… Named All-Section for 3 WPIAL Quad A and to WPIAL Quad A All-East Team… Earned High Honors all four years… Was head sports correspondent for the newspaper.

Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
When I walked on campus something odd struck me, this place felt like home. In addition to the fantastic academic programs, I was extremely comfortable on campus and when I met the team everyone seemed very nice and personable.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
So far coming to Macalester has been an incredible experience. The people I have met have become some of my closest friends, and have helped me through tough times. College has been an exciting experience so far, and with my friends and teammates, will continue to be for the next 2-3 years.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Playing baseball at Macalester has taught me to balance my time between school, a social life and sports. By having achieved a healthy balance of these activities in college, I know I will be able to achieve this balance after graduation as well.
