He's the Boss

Adalsteinsson is a former golfer for Iceland's national team and, in 2000, placed 25th at the European Team Championship. In 2001 he was Icelandic Junior Champion and Icelandic Junior Tour Champion.

Prior to coming to Macalester, Adalsteinsson was the head boys' varsity golf coach at Lakeville South High School in Lakeville, Minn., and, prior to that, he was the head boys' coach at University High School in San Francisco and a junior instructor at his home course, Keilir Golf Club in Iceland.

Adalsteinsson led Lakeville South during the spring season of 2012 to second place in the South Suburban Conference. The team set two school records during the season, and ended fifth in its section, only four shots from first place and a spot in the state championships.

In his teens, Adalsteinsson golfed with the Icelandic youth national teams from 1998-2003. He has experience coaching both golf and soccer. Adalsteinsson served as an assistant women's soccer coach at Carleton College and has also been a staff coach for Eden Prairie Soccer Club.
