When Last We MetThe Scots finished the 2007 season at home with a 37-30 win over Lawrence as Matt Mitchell caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from Trevor Miehe with 10 seconds to play in the game.

Macalester found itself trailing, 13-9, at half time but Jacob McDonnell scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, on a 38-yard pass and a nine-yard run, and added a 44-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter for his fourth score of the game.

In all, McDonnell rushed 36 times for 148 yards and caught seven passes for 130 yards and amassed 371 all-purpose yards.

Last WeekZandy Stowell had career highs with 28 carries for 208 yards and capped a pivotal 18-point third quarter with a 40-yard scoring run as Macalester claimed its fourth consecutive win, a 28-21 victory at Beloit.

The Scots tallied a season-high 522 yards of total offense in the victory, outgaining the Bucaneers, 522-246, with a 273-121 advantage in rushing yardage.

Samson Bialostok carried the ball just seven times, for 43 yards, but passed for a season-high 249 yards, completing 14 of 26 passes, with two touchdowns.
Ben Hillmann caught seven of those passes for 104 yards while Tre Nowaczysnki and
Victor Bordo both caught touchdown passes.

After 12 seasons as an independent, following their departure from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in football, the Scots are back in a football conference, competing in the MWC's North Division along with Beloit, Carroll, Lawrence, Ripon and St. Norbert. The South Division features Cornell, Grinnell, Illinois College, Knox, Lake Forest and Monmouth.

Macalester was picked fourth in North Division by the MWC Coaches' in the league's preseason poll. St. Norbert, which won the MWC title last season, was picked first in the North while Illinois College was picked to win the South Division.

He's the BossThe 28th head coach in the 127-year history of Macalester football,
Tony Jennison, is in his seventh season as the Scots' mentor. His six-plus seasons have seen his teams put together a 31-33 record, including a 25-19 mark over the last four-plus seasons.

A 1997 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, he was a part of four conference championship teams and two NCAA Division III championship teams as a collegian.

Jennison began his collegiate coaching career in 1998 at UW-Eau Claire as the defensive backs coach. In 2002, he took the defensive coordinator position at Marietta College before coming to coming to Macalester in 2005 in the same coaching position. He became the Scots' head coach in 2008.

Zandy's DandyAfter rushing for 241 yards in three games last season, Stowell missed the remainder of the season with an injury.

He has bounced back this year to record four 100-yard rushing games and has a Midwest Conference-leading 722 yards on 138 carries, showing his ability to be a workhorse, averaging 23 carries and 120.3 yards per game.

His "Stok" is RisingAfter showing off his running ability in the season's first five games, Bialostok showed off his arm at Beloit, completing 14 of 26 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns.

After throwing four interceptions in the season's first two games, he has gone four consecutive games without a pick and has thrown 95 consecutive passes without being intercepted.
I'm a Cheesehead, Baby, The Pride of WisconsinThe song title by the Group Cheeseheads With Attitude is apt for the 13 student-athletes on the Macalester roster who call Wisconsin home.
Outside of Minnesota, no state is more represented on the Macalester roster than Wisconsin and that group of 13 will play three games in their home state this season. The group includes defensive linemen

Thus far, the group is 2-0 in games in their home state and will now host a pair of Wisconsin opponents, Lawrence and Carroll, before returning to the Dairyland State, Nov. 8, to face St. Norbert in DePere.

Michael Abramson was named the MWC Special Teams Performer of the Week and
Ryan Fleming was named to the d3football.com Team of the Week in week one.
In week five,
Bradley Cox was named the MWC Special Team Performer of the Week while Bialostok was an honorable mention pick for national offensive player of the week by USA Football.
