ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senior offensive lineman Max Clifford (Arvada, Colo./Pomona) was selected to the All-MIAC Team, as the conference announced its season awards for football today. Also, sophomore defensive back Jay Green (Roseville, Minn./Mounds Park Academy) and first year running back Brennan Litchford (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan) received All-MIAC honorable mention.

Clifford, who has been a starter on the offensive line for most of his career, was the Scots' starting left guard this season. His strong play helped Macalester average 134.9 yards rushing per game over the nine-game conference schedule, which ranks fifth in the MIAC. Also an excellent student, Clifford earned Academic All-District and Academic All-MIAC honors as a sophomore and junior as a data science major at Macalester.

Green had a standout season at cornerback for the Scots with 30 tackles, three interceptions and eight pass breakups. His three interceptions tied for the second most in the MIAC, and he ranked fourth in the conference in pass breakups. Green's 11 passes defended tied for the conference lead. Against Hamline, he picked off two passes to help the Scots shut out the Pipers, 29-0 on Oct. 4. Green also had an interception and two pass breakups in a 27-6 victory over St. Olaf on Nov. 1.

Litchford led Macalester in rushing in his first collegiate season, gaining 581 yards and scoring six touchdowns on 141 carries. He ranked fifth in the conference with 58.1 yards rushing per game, and fourth in rushing touchdowns. In the win over Hamline, Litchford ran 16 times for 134 yards and a touchdown. He also eclipsed the 100-yard mark in the victory over St. Olaf with 113 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. Litchford's 581 rushing yards are the most by a Macalester first year since T. Joe Loiselle '12 ran for 964 yards in his debut season of 2008.

Jack Curtis of Carleton was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, Bethel's Devin Williams was chosen the Defensive Player of the Year, and Saint John's Zach Frank was selected the Mike Stam Lineman of the Year. Taye Manns of Bethel was named the Rookie of the Year. Bethel's head coach Mike McElroy is the MIAC Coach of the Year.
