Men's Tennis: Scots roll past Hamline 8-1

Macalester won its second MIAC match in as many nights when it rolled past Hamline 8-1 Saturday at the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.  The Scots improve to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in MIAC competition.

The Scots won all six singles matches, all in straight sets, getting decisions from Brian Utz (Fy., Rochester, Minn. / Lourdes) at No. 1; Stephen Tyndel (Sr., Toronto, Ont. / City Academy) at No. 2; Max Edwards (Sr., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) at No. 3; Max Soghikian (Jr., Piedmont, Calif.) at No. 4; Kai Peterson (Sr., St. Paul, Minn. / Central) at No. 5 and Sam Naden (So., Middleton, Wis.) at No. 6.

Soghikian now has the team's best overall record (9-3) and best conference mark (3-2). 

Utz and Ewards won 8-1 at first singles, while Peterson and Naden won 8-4 at third singles.

Macalester plays its third MIAC match in three days tomorrow when it takes on St. John's at the Fitness Evolution Center in Sartell.
