Macalester vs. Carleton box score
The Scots took on a very good Carleton team Sunday at Highland Park High School and played well in a 7-2 defeat to the Knights. Macalester heads to the post-season with a 9-10 overall record and 4-5 MIAC mark, while Carleton is 20-4 on the season, 8-1 in the conference.
The MIAC playoffs are set for this weekend at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. The No. 5-seeded Scots play Friday (May 4) at 3 p.m. against No. 4 St. Thomas. In Friday's other quarter-final match, No. 3 St. Olaf takes on No. 6 St. John's. No. 1 Gustavus and No. 2 Carleton get first-round byes into Saturday's semi-finals.

Evan Elderbrock (Sr., Madison, Wis. / West) won a third-set tiebreaker at No. 2 singles. Mac's other victory against the Knights came from the No. 3 doubles team of
Max Soghikian (So., Piedmont, Calif.) and
Max Edwards (Jr., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo). Soghikian and Edwards are 13-4 on the season, including 7-2 in MIAC competition.
