The Scots received goals from
Emily Bardwell (Sr., Denver, Colo. / East) and
Maggie Molter (Fy., Cedarburg, Wis.) to beat St. Olaf 2-0 Friday night at Macalester Stadium and move into a tie for third place in the MIAC standings. With their second straight shutout victory, the Scots are now 5-3 in the conference, 9-5 overall, and are back in the race for a spot in the MIAC post-season.

Rosie Glenn-Finer (So., San Francisco, Calif. / Lick Wilmerding) registered her fifth shutout in 10 starts and Macalester's defense held the high-scoring Oles to just three shots on goal. Glenn-Finer's goals against average drops to 0.59.
At 5-3, Macalester is tied with St. Olaf and St. Thomas for third place in the MIAC standings. Carleton leads the league at 7-1 and Concordia is 6-1-2.
Bardwell became the 11th player in the history of the program to reach the career 25-goal plateau when she scored in the 11th minute on a
Lauryn Gutierrez (Sr., Hickory, N.C. / St. Stephen's) assist as the Scots took control of the match.
Izzi Speer (Fy., Madison, Wis. / West) made a nice pass to Molter, who chipped it in over the charging Ole keeper in the 41st minute to give the Scots a two-goal cushion heading into the halftime break.
Bardwell accounted for four of Mac's eight shots on net.
Hannah Boston (So., Mill Valley, Calif. / Tamalpais) added two shots on goal.
St. Olaf, the fourth-ranked team in the North Region, had won four of its previous five matches coming in, falls to 10-5 overall.
Macalester plays the second of its four straight home matches Tuesday (Oct. 19) when it takes on the region's No. 3-ranked squad, Wisconsin-Eau Claire, in a non-conference event on
Kick Cancer Night.
