Complete St. John's/St. Benedict Invitational results
Andrew Yokom (Jr., Arden Hills, Minn. / Mounds View) won the 200-meter and 400-meter dash events and
Martin Stenman Andersson (So., Uppsala, Sweden / IT Gymnasiet Uppsala) finished first in the long jump to lead the way for the Scots at the St. John's / St. Benedict Invitational in Collegeville.
The meet was held inside, so instead of making his first 400-meter hurdle appearance since reaching last spring's national finals, Yokom sprinted himself to a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash (23.09) and another first-place performance in the 400 dash (51.21). Stenman Andersson's winning mark in the long jump was 20-10 ¾ (6.37m).
Sean Cooke (Jr., Guangzhou, China / American International) placed sixth in the triple jump (37-8 /2 / 11.49m) and
Wade Miller (Jr., Alden, Minn. / Alden-Conger) was eighth in the shot put (35-7 ¼ / 10.85m.).
The 1600-meter relay placed fourth of 17 entrants (3:34.32). Relay team members were Yokom, Stenman Andersson,
Franz Meyer (Jr., Kirkwood, Mo.) and
Palmer Fliss (Fy., Medway, Mass.).
Next Saturday (April 5), the Scots will start their outdoor campaign at the Hamline Quadrangular).
