Women’s Track & Field: Macalester Hosts Rider/Bolstorff Invite, Takes Fourth

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team competed well at Macalester's Rider/Bolstorff Invitational, held Friday and Saturday at Macalester Stadium. The Scots scored 53 points to take fourth out of 17 teams.

In the field events, senior Brooke Boroughs (Monroe, Wash./Monroe) won the javelin with a throw of 34.86 meters (114-4). Junior Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) finished second in the shot put with a toss of 12.99 meters (42-7.5). Senior Harmony-Keli Tomety (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook East) took second in the long jump with a leap of 5.39 meters (17-8.25), her best mark of the season so far. Junior Seneca Wilson (Durango, Colo./Durango) was eighth in the pole vault, clearing 2.91 meters (9-6.5). On Friday, junior Jessica Lin (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) finished fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 48.15 meters (157-11), her best mark of the season.

On the track, sophomore Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.18, which ranks seventh on Macalester's all-time list. First year Aubrey Jensen (Floresville, Texas) posted a season-best time of 4:52.17 to take fifth. Sophomore Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle) was fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.88, and finished seventh in the 200 meters in 26.93. Sophomore Megan Worry (Menlo Park, Calif./Notre Dame) placed sixth in the 400-yard hurdles with a time of 1:13.13, her best time of the season.

Next up for Macalester is the Joe Sweeney Invitational at the University of St. Thomas on Wednesday, April 29.
