PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Macalester College sophomore
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) and junior
Samantha Ellis (Intervale, N.H./Gould Academy) competed in the 5000 meters at the UW-Platteville Invitational Friday night. The event, one of the top 5000-meter races in Division III, included seven heats and 197 finishers.
Fox posted a personal-vest time of 17:20.56 to take 10th in her heat and 31st overall. The time ranks fourth on Macalester's all-time performance list behind former All-Americans
Julia Kirtland '87,
Kimber Meyer '17 and
Linda Zeman '84. Ellis won her heat and finished 83rd overall with a time of 18:09.55, which is ninth all-time at Macalester.
The rest of the women's track & field team competes at Bethel University on Saturday, April 11.
