Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) was named the MIAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, as the conference announced its awards for the indoor track & field season today. In addition to Rogahn-Press, sophomore
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt), junior
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) and the distance medley relay team were recognized for placing in the top three at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend at Carleton College.
Rogahn-Press turned in three All-MIAC performances, including a victory in the 400 meters with a time of 55.79 that broke both the MIAC Championships and the facility records. She also was second in the 200 meters in 25.44 and third in the 55-meter dash in 7.32 after breaking the school record in the prelims with a time of 7.24.
Myatt won the Scots' other MIAC title by repeating as champion in the shot put. She matched her school record toss of 13.22 meters (43-4.5). Fox earned All-MIAC honors with a third-place finish in the mile in 5:05.07. She also anchored Macalester's distance medley relay team to a second-place finish, combining with first year
Aubrey Jensen (Floresville, Texas), senior
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) and sophomore
Kyra Morris (Pacific Palisades, Calif./Palisades Charter) to post a time of 12:30.35, which ranks second all-time at Macalester.
Rogahn-Press and Myatt also ran on the Scots' 4x400-meter relay team along with Wilkins and sophomore
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle) and finished fourth in 4:01.82 to receive All-MIAC honorable mention. Fox also received All-MIAC honorable mention with a fifth-place finish in the 1000 meters with a time of 3:01.40.
As a team, Macalester registered 59 points to place sixth in the team standings at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
